[RUMOUR] NEW DETAILS ABOUT BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN

A few new rumours have been floating around the internet regarding the much anticipated sequel to Man of Steel in 2015, Batman vs. Superman.

The rumours sprouted from a site known as Batman-on-Film, via Comic Book Therapy, claiming these rumours shed light on the plot of the film. The site in recent years has been correct regarding certain information about Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, but nevertheless these are just rumours but we’ll take anything we can get hold of. Highlights of the article are as follows:

– We will see Ben Affleck in costume as Batman early 2014, around the time of filming in February.

– No Batman villains will be included.

-Wonder Women could have a “cameo plus” role, similar to that of Black Widow in Iron Man 2.

-The film will be a sequel to Man of Steel and not a Justice League prequel.

-Jason Momoa, another actor who was rumoured to be apart of the film, will not play Martian Manhunter or Aquaman as neither character will appear in the film. Interestingly, the article doesn’t state if Jason Momoa is not involved in the film in anyway, so I’m guessing he will play some part in the movie, maybe Doomsday or Lobo.

-We will get another Superman sequel without the incorporation of any other DC characters.

Additionally, the site is also claiming that the version of Wonder Women played by Gal Gadot in Batman vs. Superman will be from Kryptonian decent. Jett Ramey the sites proprietor believes “that the ‘Amazons’ of this cinematic DCU will be descendants of those ‘ancient Krytonians’ who attempted to set up Kryptonian outposts throughout spacedom thousands and thousands of years ago. Furthermore, I say Wonder Women will be powered-down, if you will, relative to Superman because these Amazons have evolved and adapted to living on Earth for hundreds of centuries. And since Kryptonians are produced without any “He’n and She’n”- JorEl and Laura excluded- couldn’t this original Kryptonian on Earth have used this reproductive science to create an all-female race? I say yes!” So, with that all being said does this mean we are seeing the end of Wonder Women’s origins? If this is the case it will certainly upset those die-hard fans of the beloved character.

If these rumours are true then I myself will certainly be relieved. My initial fear when the announced Wonder Women’s involvement was not of the actress playing her and her slim physique, but with the fact that Wonder Women would be in the film. Her incorporation into the film gave of the impression that Batman vs. Superman would now be slowly turning into a Justice League prequel as DC tries to hoard and establish as many of their characters on the silver screen as quickly as possible, which is the wrong way to go about it. Have faith in your characters and establish them in their own movies, implementing them into a movie that you know will receive attention because it contains two of the most popular cultural icons in the world is either a smart or concerning move. If Wonder Women’s role is similar to Black Widows role in Iron Man 2, then that would be an ideal way to subtly introduce the character to audiences and potentially springboard a standalone movie. With that being said this is just all rumour and hopeful speculation so be prepared for Zack Synder to take the film in a completely different direction because it may happen.

However, would you be happy if those rumours were in fact true? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more rumours as there will most likely be some in the near future.
